Build Fest Presentations

February 2022, Texas Immersive Institute(TXI) hosted our first Social Impact Build Fest. The students were asked to design and develop an experience using three different types of emerging technologies (Snapchat Lens, Mozilla Hubs, or 360 video) to tackle one of these primary social issues: student voter engagement, gender equality, climate change, race on campus, and equitable housing. During the judging process of this event, Natalie Tindall (Director of the School of Advertising and PR) granted TXI with a $5000 grant pool to disperse amongst the teams. Throughout this summer, the three awarded teams have been working on design and development of their MVP (prototype). Join us to cheer these teams onward as they present their work on zoom or in person at DMC 1.202.
