Can Racial Equity Commissions Heal Communities?
March 27 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT

Generally speaking, racial equity commissions are made up of residents, government officials, and key community stakeholders who work together to create recommendations that will lead to more racially equitable and just communities. The focus of commissions can vary depending on the community’s priorities or historic challenges, but often center on healthcare, public safety, and/or economic equality.
In this webinar, experienced mediators, facilitators, and consultants in the fields of diversity, equity, and inclusion will discuss the concept, how-tos, goals, and benefits of racial equity commissions. We will also be joined by two members of the Salt Lake City Racial Equity in Policing Commission. Commission members will talk about Salt Lake City’s process, their individual perspectives, and provide an update on how the commission’s recommendations are being used.
Our Dr. Larry Schooler is on this panel!
