Openness and transparency are taken for granted as ethical communication stances, but they assume altogether different dimensions when considered against the broad background of Global North-South relationships, not only in terms of cultural flows, but in terms of economy and knowledge construction itself. This virtual session considers openness and transparency in the context of what transparency might mean in terms of sustainability and economic practice, as well as the very nature of Open Science itself.
