Free Speech in Contemporary Society Panel Discussion

Freedom of speech and a free press may be strongly held ideals in our society, but they have become increasingly complicated amid heightened political polarization and the proliferation of media platforms. Tensions between civility/respect and diverse points of view are often on full display not only on our college campuses, but also in protests and various online venues. As part of Free Speech Week 2020, this panel of experts from Moody College will examine various aspects of free speech in contemporary society.
The panel includes formal comments from each speaker followed by an online discussion. Panelists are Mary Angela Bock, Mirasol Enriquez, Teresa Frontado, Scott Stroud, and Sam Woolley.
