Global Women’s Rights and the Media: Past, Present and Future | Diversity in Media Symposium

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at the Moody College of Communication presents the third annual Diversity in Media Symposium.
This two-day symposium, scheduled March 23-24, will bring together leading media and communication practitioners, scholars, students, and activists to discuss and call attention to the importance of women’s rights and media around the world.
Thursday, March 23: Film Screening and Discussion
Writing with Fire: Resistance among women journalists in India Film Screening and Discussion
Friday, March 24: Speaker Panels, Group Workshop, and Live Musical Performance
Latin Grammy Nominee and Moody Alum, Gina Chavez, will deliver a keynote speech and live performance. This day will also include panels and a workshop featuring scholars and media professionals who’s work centers on women’s rights.
Please register in advance to attend one or both days of this much anticipated event!
This event is free and open to the public. Light food and beverages will be available throughout the event.
