Great Conversations 2020: Fixing American Politics

October 1, 2020 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm CDT

$50

Please join the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life at The University of Texas at Austin and Honorary Event Co-Chairs, Janie Strauss McGarr and Nancy Strauss Halbreich for Great Conversations 2020: Fixing American Politics on Thursday, October 1, 2020 from 6:00pm – 7:30pm CDT, featuring panelists Matthew Dowd, Dr. Brandon Rottinghaus, Karen Tumulty.

The virtual discussion will call each of us—whether we hold the title of elected official, parent, teacher, student, volunteer, manager, leader, reporter, officer, artist, technologist, neighbor, or voter—to reflect on our role in defining, living, and spreading civic values such as education and participation in a public arena that is too often marred by incivility, gridlock, and distrust.

Additionally, the evening will feature an awards presentation to Admiral B.R. Inman and The Honorable Kirk Watson.

Named sponsor and financial supporter opportunities are available. Participant tickets are $50. All proceeds raised at the event directly support the education and research mission of the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life.
