Introduction to Blockchain, Web3, and the Metaverse

Crypto, Web3 and the metaverse are becoming part of the vernacular. In this 90-minute workshop you will be introduced to the new decentralized world.

This workshop will be presented by three leading Web3 organizations – CryptoConexion, Minero and Web3 Familia. Workshop participants will be introduced to each concept, see current examples of how they work on existing platforms, and explore how organizations and brands are participating in this new decentralized world. The workshop will include an introductory talk, and it will be followed by a moderated panel discussion and Q&A session.

This event is hosted by the Latino Media Arts and Studies program, and co-sponsored by the Texas Immersive Institute.

Bios

Magdalena Madrigal, MBA, co-founder of Web3Familia. Community builder at heart, Magdalena’s experiences in grass root campaigns have fueled her expertise and enthusiasm for building a community in Web3. As a first gen Latina, she is passionate about bringing Web3 resources to her cultural roots.

Monica Talan is the founder of CryptoConexión, a Spanish-language platform to drive awareness and engagement in the decentralized economy.  Today her platform is attracting users in Latin America who are new to blockchain, crypto, Web3, NFTs and the Metaverse. Her team is located in Argentina, Mexico, Spain and the United States.

Jenaro Diaz is the Chief Innovation Officer and co-founder of Minero Inc, a one-stop-shop for all Web3 needs. For over 20 years he has led a team of designers and developers to help Fortune 500 companies, startups and non-profit organizations with their tech needs and multicultural campaign strategies.

Cristina Diaz, CEO and co-founder of Minero Inc. A multicultural Web3 creative studio based in Austin that is using NFTs to certify personal achievements, Minero Inc. is leveraging their team’s experience in the advertising industry to help build the bridge between Web2 and Web3.
