Research Presentation: Jerome Williams Inaugural Lecture on Race, Media, and the Marketplace

Dr. Sonya Grier of American University will give a research presentation entitled, “Research to Understand Race in the Marketplace.” The presentation is part of the Inaugural Jerome Williams Lecture on Race, Media, and the Marketplace.

Dr. Jerome Williams was an esteemed member of the UT Austin ADV/PR faculty from 2003-2010 before moving to Rutgers University where he became Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost of the Rutgers-Newark campus. He was a giant and a trailblazer in the fields of advertising and marketing. His research focused on issues of race, media, and the marketplace, and he received lifetime achievement awards for his research from both the American Academy of Advertising and the American Marketing Association. He died in January of 2021.
