“Testimony of Ana” Documentary Screening & Discussion

Radio-Television-Film MFA film & media production student Sachin Dheeraj will screen his short documentary, “Testimony of Ana” (24 min), followed by a discussion with RTF Associate Professor Lalitha Gopalan and a Q&A.

Set in rural India, the documentary looks at the life of Anaben Pawar. Ana is an elderly tribal woman accused of witchcraft. Through Ana’s story, we delve into a deep-rooted culture of patriarchy and examine one of the most monstrous attacks on women’s bodies in modern India: the witch-hunt.

WINNER  – Best Social Justice Short Film, 16th Tasveer South Asian Film Festival; Best Short Documentary (Oscar-qualifying) at 13th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala.
