"Vida" showrunner/creator Tanya Saracho Q&A + episode screening

April 17 @ 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm CDT
Vida and Tanya Saracho

The Department of Radio-Television-Film is delighted to announce that Tanya Saracho will be our special guest this spring for our Latino Media Arts & Studies Speaker Series.

A TV writer and playwright, Saracho created and was the showrunner for the popular STARZ show Vida. Vida has been one of the most prestigious and recognized Latinx shows of this millennium, as it was written, directed, composed, and edited by a completely Latinx—and almost exclusively female, largely queer—team. The series tackles family, gentrification, and sexuality and is an important look at current Latinx culture.

Join us on Wednesday evening, April 17, in DMC 5.102, for a "Vida" episode screening, followed by a Q&A with Saracho, moderated by RTF Professor Mary Beltrán.

Sponsored by the Department of Radio-Television-Film, the Department of Theatre and Dance, and Latino Studies UT Austin.
