Voces of a Pandemic Symposium

April 21 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm CDT

Voces of a Pandemic Symposium

The Covid-19 pandemic brought the world to a standstill in 2020. In the U.S., Latinos/as suffered disproportionately. Many were essential workers in food processing and services; others were among the legions of healthcare providers who cared for the millions of sick and dying.

A team of professors and students from 13 institutions across the country stepped up during this time of crisis to conduct oral history interviews about the Latino experience in the U.S. This nationwide project, Voces of a Pandemic, was led by the Voces Oral History Center at The University of Texas at Austin’s Moody College of Communication.

Please join us on Friday, April 21, from 10AM-4PM CST for a live-streamed event to hear interviewees, as well as researchers, share lessons learned from recording over 400 Zoom interviews.
