Whole Communities–Whole Health Research Showcase

In an important milestone the Whole Communities—Whole Health UT grand challenge is preparing to launch its research partnership with families in the Del Valle community near Austin. That means next year we will embark on our first-of-its-kind cohort study, examining health equity in Central Texas and how children fare in the face of adversity. This virtual research showcase will highlight the work that has been conducted over the past two years in preparation for this important transition. Some of the work that will be presented includes:

• Child-parent relationships in development
• Physical activity in the schools
• The experience of racism on adolescent stress
• Home air quality and its effects on sleep and wellbeing
• What the daily digital footprint can tell us about mood and stress levels
