Why Diversity Matters In STEM

Join Professor S. Craig Watkins as he discusses “Why Diversity Matters in STEM”. The powerful role and influence of technology in society–smartphones, social media, artificial intelligence–is widely recognized. In this talk, Professor Watkins explores the factors that contribute to the diversity crisis in STEM, how society can benefit from greater diversity in tech, the challenges and opportunities associated with technology education today, and why schools should shift from a “work readiness” ethos to a “future readiness” ethos.
